I am not sure I have ever successfully written a short update, but today will be my best attempt at a short update 🙂  

I went out to the land for a few hours on Friday.  I didn’t have a lot I wanted to accomplish, but the main goal was to move the dirt I piled up to make a path down into the drainage ditch, back down into the drainage ditch. See pics 1&2 and then 3&4 for before and after and pic 5 for the dirt going back in the ditch.

It wasn’t long after finishing that, I lost a hose on the excavator! 😦 .. I almost had an accident (pc way of saying “crapped my pants”) when the hose broke, I thought someone shot a gun at me, it was an extremely loud noise!  And turns out… it was the NEW HOSE I put on last year that broke! And it was the fitting coming loose from the hose. I am hoping to get a warranty on that since it is less than a year old!  .. If I am replacing a hose I want it to be an old one!  See pics 6&7

So with my excavator down I decided to start tackling my wood pile. I eventually want to cut it all up for firewood.  I don’t have a decent before and after because after spending about 3 hours on it, it doesn’t look like I did anything… Turns out it is a big wood pile (if you look close to the bottom left of pic 9.. you can kind of see remnants of where wood was down at the bottom of the pile… so I did do SOMETHING lol).  I also started my small diameter pile and my larger diameter piles for future cutting. If anyone ever has an odd desire for a different kind of a work out or really likes sorting wood out of a wood pile let me know and we can make it a date haha!

And that is it, I have the new hose on order so it shouldn’t take long to get the excavator back up and running.
