I hope everyone is ready for Christmas and the new year!

With only one hour of church today and no meetings, today felt like a good day to get this organized and kicked off 🙂

Things are starting to get real for us here in Albion. And its getting close to game time!  For the last month I have been working on getting a build plan and getting documentation so we can get a building permit.  And this week, we finished! We have a building permit, which is kind of exciting because this is the farthest in the build process that we have ever gone. This might sound like a decent accomplishment, but turns out, there is a really LOW bar here in Cassia County to get a building permit.

If you’d like to see the documention let me know! It includes a floor plan (both old and new) and some elevations in there. It looks a bit like a 2nd grade project, but it did get the job done so don’t judge too harshly 🙂

So case and point, Cassia county doesn’t even require a structural engineer to review the plans (your mind should be blown right now if you have ever tried to get a building permit). Which is both cool and scary. I am still working with a structural engineer however, and am hoping to get his feedback in January. I don’t want this addition to blow over or collapse.  This laxness is actually one of the reasons we wanted to move here to Albion.  I do like having a little more freedom and a little less oversight on what I want to do with “my” property. 🙂  Anyhow the goal is to start the project and start doing some excavation in February! Fingers crossed.

In the meantime.. since I’m getting antsy, we decided to do some pre game in the house this week. We had a rock wall in our house that Karianne and I didn’t care for much (sorry to all who have visited and loved it.. but it just wasn’t in our taste).  So we ripped it all down! Decided to do it all in one go to only deal with the dust and mess once.

We repurposed the rocks out in our creek to make a spot a little deeper… so I’d have a good spot to do what any “normal” human would want to do yesterday in December, a cold plunge! .. At least it’s a little better than in the septic tanks like back in Huntsville 🙂

Birthday Cold Plunge! –

Anyhow…… for the Banners.. its GAME ON !!

Until next time!

Mark
