Lucky for you all I don’t have the time to do a full newsletter. So you get yet another photo dump and minimal narration (preferred method I’m sure 🙂

The Shed – I set the inverter up in a permanent location, built out one of my battery banks including hooking up all the leads for the BMS (battery management system) and ran a little electrical and got my first light in! 

The Excavator – ITS FIXED! And it ran very well! The mechanic got the new pump in and it seems to be back to all its former glory. I ran it pretty hard all day Friday. I am doing pre excavation for the main house because the septic system for both the Cottage and the main house will be up by the main house. We need to get a better feel for the walk out level so we know where to set the septic tank and get a better feel for how to situate the leach field. I made some good progress moving lots of dirt and got down 8 or so feet! Pics 4-9.

The Well Celebration – We can pump our own water finally!  We made an “Epic Not Epic” water slide to celebrate. Turns out it was too rocky and hurt to slide down. Epic fail. But we still had fun in the water. And in another form of celebration Andrew and Lydia had the privilege of helping me take my first shower with my own well. The water can’t be more than 50 degrees, so it is VERY fresh! Lucky for me .. I like cold water 🙂
